Hey Everyone,
I purchased the Rally Armor mud flaps for my Wildtrak and have discovered that the rear flaps require temporarily removing two bolts from the plastic bumper to attach the metal bracket that holds the mud flaps. I guess for the 2023+ Broncos, Ford is is no longer using two bolts; only the top one remains (see attached illustration from the instructions). Rally Armor suggests you mount the steel brack using only the top mounting hole.
Iām not really keen on having these mud flaps held on by only one bolt. I could see them becoming misligned very easily as a result.
Does anyone know why Ford stopped using two mounting bolts on the rear plastic bumpers? Did they just decide it was just overkill. I am considering adding the second bolt back but I just want to know if there is anything behind that area I should be concerned about. The rear parking sensor is a lot higher up on the bumper than where this bolt would go in.
