Rear Hatch Key Detection Range Shorter After Trailer Harness Install

Hey guys,

I had my Trailer Hitch Wiring Harness (VP2DZ15A416A) installed at the dealer some time ago, and since then the detection for the rear key fob when opening the rear hatch has been significantly reduced. Trailer harness itself works great.

Is this normal?

Did they miss a step?

There are multiple PATS antennas in the rear cargo area. They may have forgotten to plug the driver side cargo area antenna back in when they put the panel back on.

Oh boy sounds like I need to start taking the plastic covers off the driver's side cargo area. I'm much better with mechanical stuff than interior plastics so this will be an adventure.

Thats my bad, I copied the wrong picture. It is on the drivers side. Very similar though

No problem. You may be able to carefully "peel" back the top corner to get enough room to reach your hand in there to see if it is plugged in or not.

Don't forget to pop this small plastic cover off first:

I you want even more of a visual... I got a video on removing the passenger side panel for a subwoofer install. Driver's side is obviously very similar and requires many of the same steps.

You probably don't need to remove the entire panel though. So... ya know... modify steps as necessary.
