Hey Everyone.
I'm looking for a rear cargo cover that helps when running topless. Since there is no security or places to store stuff and keep the wind from blowing it out. Do not really want a security box that mounts to the floor. All of the ones I have found come with hard side and back panels. Does anyone have anything else you would suggest?

I will be building one that attaches/hinges to my side Molle Panels but will be removable when I don't need it. it is just a top that will latch closed and you will have to open the tailgate to get in. I keep a bunch of stuff back there and I am always a little nervous parking it when topless.

I put on the Ford OEM tonneau cover. bolts on the side, using the hard top bolts, and then straps around the tailgate. However, I replaced the tailgate straps with suction cups and have been using that for a while works great. So I only have to undo 4 suction cups. Pretty good waterproofing too.

Well here is what I ended up doing tonight. I finished by adding 15 inch chains to the underside connecting to the tie down points. For $50 I feel like this was a successful little project.

That's not a bad idea. Is it just wedged on the plastic to hold it up?

The portion closest to the back seats are just sitting on the moulding ledge on the sides of the cargo area. The portion closest to the tailgate, I actually put a small nail into the driver side moulding to hold it up and avoid hitting the bulging out part of the tailgate (driver's side) when I close the tailgate. I may cover the entire thing with a fabric, felt, or may even paint it. The portion closest to the tailgate is a separate piece and I put hinges on it, so I can open it and put things into the cargo area without opening the tailgate.
