Getting a bumper that has cut outs for bumper lights, I don't wheel often and almost never in the dark but may do it in the future.

Should I put in floods or spots?

Flood or Wide lenses. The angle will almost never be right when reversing for spots to highlight the area you want.

Copy that, thanks. Do I need to buy a special harness for them to work with the AUX switches?

Depends on how you want them to work.

@SPVPARTS has a harness that lets them run as reverse lights as well as toggle on/off with an AUX switch.

Otherwise, you can just tap the reverse circuit and they function solely as reverse lights.

You will need to run the power to the pre wired 12v behind the passenger rear panel. The ground to any ground that’s behind the same
Panel.

Then the same wire comes out under the hood, so you need to connect that one into the aux switch led that’s also right there.

Harness kinda implies there is a ready made plug and play wiring setup, which, to my knowledge there is not.

To run them as you describe, you'll have to take the pigtail or plug that comes with whatever lights you choose, run the ground to a nearby frame point and the hot to whichever AUX switch pigtail color that corresponds with the AUX number switch you want to use. If you use @Combustion_King 's suggestion of the passenger side prewired drop, you'll need to make one more splice underhood to connect the rear passenger drop to the AUX switch pigtail.

If you're not familiar with wiring (and even if you are) I would use the SPV harness, which should be all plug and play except for the one splice to the AUX switch, if I remember right.

Copy that. So just for conversation purposes, if Rigid only supplies the light, the options to install them and use them are either go to a shop that knows what they are doing and they will just wire them like they do or buy a harness that is basically a bundle that is pre-packaged for essentially "plug and play" purposes?

We spoke about this but for those curious

Wide/Flood work best.

Diffused are the next best option as they are a DIFFUSED pattern scattering the light all over.

We make harnesses that tie directly into the factory tails. Plugs right in-line with the factory tail light and allows the lights to turn on automatically in reverse

Our harness ALSO gives you upfitter control, so you can turn the lights on from an upfitter switch AS WELL as automatically. The nice part about our harness is that we DO NOT back-feed the factory circuit. So if you turn the reverse lights on from your upfitter, we will NOT back-feed the factory reverse circuit (which can cause problems). We have a diode built into our harness.

So we have lots of options depending on how you want to control them.

Figured I would ask here for others as well. Does your harness go from the rear all the way to the hood to plug in to the upfitter?

Yes. Or you can connect it to the rear pass-through. Choice is yours.

Hey There!

Like @Chrome_Pony mentioned, our patented harness system will give you the easiest install possible. You will not need a shop to do the install for you, so you can save some money that way.

With our harness system, you can choose if you want automatic reverse trigger only, manual switch trigger only, or automatic reverse trigger AND manual switch trigger.
It is all plug and play, with the exception of the bare switch wire (if you choose that route), and the light wires (if you select lights that are bare wire).
That said, we do have easy, quick-connect options for both instances to make your install clean and easy.
Auxiliary (Aux) Switch Wire Extension Kit with Connectors (Numbered)

SPV Parts Harness 3 Pole WP Add On Female Connector Adapter (Single) -

Most of our Rigid reverse light kits are already priced at a minimum of 15% off the price of the lights, the wiring, and the brackets. You can also take an additional 5% off with your bronco forum discount (broncoforum100), for a total discount of 20% or more.

We do keep a massive amount of Rigid and Baja Designs lights on the shelves at all times, so there is almost never any wait time on those orders, as they generally ship within 24-48hrs of the order being placed.

If you have any questions at all about anything, I would be more than happy to assist.
You can call or text me directly at (317) 934-6778.

I hope you have a great weekend!

Cheers!
Sidney @ SPV Parts

I replied to your message.

I don't think you will be happy with that option for reverse lighting.
I am more than happy to put it together for you if that is what you really want, but I just want to be sure you really want that, knowing that spot is not a great option for light pattern in the reverse light position.

That said, as long as you are aware of those things, it is absolutely your choice, and I want you to be happy with whatever you choose for your vehicle's lighting.

Please let me know your thoughts and I will gladly assist in any way possible.

Thanks!

From what I have read on here and seen, it is a diffused spot that acts like a flood. Is that not the case? I can't seem to find a pattern that shows that exact light. I can see "spot" and "diffused" but not "spot diffused" Do you have anything?

I want the smoked lenses that fit the space in the bumper, so what are my options?
