Radiator - Bleed Air

I’ll explain in a separate post how a lot of air got into my cooling system and some coolant got into my crankcase, after I have it all fixed and recover from shock.

Air bleeding the cooling system, I have a question for a pro like @Ducati1098 or anyone DIY experienced on the 2.7. Online videos say mostly just idle with the tank cap loose, and add coolant as needed while air bubbles off. I may even have read anout that some place here. Is there anything special otherwise to do or be aware of?

Having a vacuum bleeder is the best way. Bleeding it simply by idling/reving the engine is possible if you don’t have one, but it can be a long drawn out process and take a long time to get all the air out successfully

Accidentally drained all my coolant last week during an install that required disconnecting the water pump (lobo hidden winch)
I didn’t clamp the hose well enough and had to replace all the coolant. I shifted to neutral and reved the engine to a constant 3500 rpm for 30 seconds, then burped the system (loosening the cap on coolant till air escaped then add in more coolant to the line. DONT DO THIS IF YOU RUN TRUCK FOR A WHILE!) I had to do this probably 8 or 9 times before I drove it and when I got back I had to add in a little more coolant. My truck did throw a lot of error codes that wouldn’t clear without plugging that computer thingy into the computer and clearing the codes manually, sorry forgot it’s name
