Question on Mabett Speaker Pods

Finding a bushing/spacer for bottom bolt I think would be easy to find. Let me go look thru my parts and see which brackets I used. I’ll get back to you momentarily.

Yes thanks. That’s the link I was looking at where it says 4 foot only but some people said it worked with 2-door. Just don’t know if it comes with the bushings and 2-door bracket…

Did you have to remove a seatbelt plastic cover?

No problem at all with seatbelt it just swivels out of the way but like I said it’s only by about 1/16”. Mine are probably closer to 1/8” because I placed a small piece of foam between pod and seat belt to silence any new rattle. Definitely do not need more of those

Ok, so after looking at old ones, I think the same brackets are used for both the 2 and 4 door, only thing different is the bushing for bottom mounting bolt when used on 2 door. I also recall that if I used the supplied bushing without trimming and instead used a longer bolt the pod would not touch seatbelt at all. I’m quite certain top mounting brackets are universal 2/4dr.

I’m gonna give it a try and hope this solves the speaker pod bolts rubbing against the rampage soft top rear window…

Here’s a pic of top bolts, their position is no different than OEM pods. However the outboard corner on that angle for Mabett brackets protrudes about 3/8” higher than roll bar. If that’s the problem, maybe just place a piece of adhesive 1/8” foam over bolt heads???

On the link above for the speakers did it come with the needed wires/clips to attach to the factory harness or did you cut those off the factory ones and reuse?

So, the Mabett pods actually come with the wiring harnesses and they also come with the spacers you are talking about for the 2 door.

I mentioned near the end of the video that I believed the spacers are for the 2-door version. Hope that helps.

Confirming the Mabett pods come with the brackets still - for the 2-door. Just got mine from amazon. It also has the bushings but they are metal so cutting them may be difficult. I thought they were plastic.

Install went smoothly. Speaker pods work for the 2-door using the brackets hin the kit. The rear seatbelt is a little in the way but rotates away to allow for the install.

Best part…no issues with the screws hitting the rear window of the rampage top
