You are giving the dealers an awful lotta credit in the smarts dept. lol but yeah they probably could see a data log if they wanted to
It’s not a datalog. It’s a website with all the vehicles information that gets pulled up during every service visit lol
They don’t need to do anything special to see it. It’s a pretty big warning.

I see - but if you installed the procal yourself, how would that show up - especially if you flash back before ever taking it to a dealer for service? I guess maybe bc you have to enter your VIN online to get the software initially?

Since each one is VIN locked, the information goes directly from Ford performance to Ford, then onto this website.

Mine has the warning also, and I installed it myself a long time ago. Still has it even though it hasn’t been installed for a year.

The magic of telemetry.

The VIN will let you download the tune file, but past that there's no need to connect back to the laptop - so Ford Performance doesn't actually know if you installed it or not, just that you activated your dongle and linked it to your VIN.

The telemetry though - that will know. And that reports back semi-frequently to report status, location, update the as-builts and get OTA updates and what not.

All that said - if you were to do something like unplug the modems, would Ford still know? That - I don't know. I'm just guessing it flags as soon as your As-Builts update, because that would make sense - but there's a lot of software decisions around Ford that don't always follow that path.

Extremely easy install. This is a do it yourself job if you’ve ever used a windows pc.
