SF Bay Area is definitely close to MSRP. Tons of lay offs/hiring freezes here, the good times have officially ended. Were I still in the market, I’d be pretty bold to dealers here and offer MSRP, pointing out all the job losses.

Due to the implosion of used car prices, Carvana (stock down some 90%) is in danger of going bankrupt because they have a gigantic inventory they now, cannot sell for more money than they paid.

Prediction: I think this time next year, you’ll be able to stroll into a dealership and buy a Wildtrak under MSRP off the lot. Probably sooner.

I think it's more to do with the higher end Broncos. Try and find a base model! Job market is fine for everyone outside the bloated tech market. I am still going to the Bay Area way to much for my liking.

Perhaps I'm showing my age, but to me the Bronco was a little no frills utility vehicle that was in production for longer than a decade before trying to become the next Trail Blazer. And if anything, I'd say it was a rip-off of the FJ, I don't beleave the Scout even had a removable top till 66. The Trail Blazer versions of the Bronco, while far more useful, never had a cool factor to them. I think the same way about the LandCruiser's, after the FJ40 series, the name should of died with it instead of slapping its name on something it wasn't.

Carvana is a "Tech company" pretending to be a used car company. Their model was buy high, sell high, and sell fast to generate churn. Keep refurb, sales, marketing, and finance in house for vertical efficiency.

So, they were priced like a tech company. They have never actually made a profit. What's the correct P/E for a company losing money hand over fist?

And then, because they are a tech company instead of an established dealer, they broke the law in several states by reselling vehicles before the title cleared, and have had their liscence to do business pulled in multiple states.

Thanks to the recent decline in wholesale prices, they are probably about $250 mil underwater on their inventory. That's... definitely not good for them. But, just like most actual car dealers, they make their money selling financing. So, they can technically lose money on the vehicle if they make enough on financing and warranty sales.

But $250 mil is a damn big hole.

Are you stating this with the expectation that the models are base?

What are the differences between a Wildtrak, Badlands, and an OBX if they all have 2.7s and SAS? Isn't it just colors and interior options?

BL: Sway bar disconnect. WT: Hoss 3.0 if you ordered it that way in '22 (standard in '23). But if you just care about the tires and ride height, 2.7 'Squatches are the same except cosmetics.

Because there is greater demand for all the 'Squatch models than supply, they will go for a premium. Dealer stock models will be less desirable Base and Big Bends. Those models will fall faster.

Eventually, I think the lower end models will be like the cheaper jeeps: if you really want to customize them, get a good deal and use the money saved to help with aftermarket upgrades.

Here in Western Washington there is still $5k to $10k+ markup depending on area. I was just in the Boise area for a week and I saw $17k markups there so seems its hit or miss on prices falling. Bickford Ford near me has a Big Bend SAS for $9,600 over MSRP thats been there for going on a month. I would write them a check today if they would go to MSRP but they told me no dice...so I keep waiting.

My dealer has been 100% honest and honored MSRP with my April 2021 delivery. They do mark up stock units just like all the other dealers around here in the Twin Cities area. This Raptor was on their showroom floor for $149k last week. It will be interesting to see how long it lasts and what it sells for.

I have my 2nd Bronco through the same dealer scheduled for an 11/18 build date so I told my salesman to let me know when it sells.

There are two Braptors available on Autotrader for $109k and they go up from there. A bunch at $135k.

Paying $135k for a Braptor will not happen now unless the person was in a coma for a year and has no idea what’s going on. 6 months to a year they will be selling for $80k +-.

I'm not sure how many of you are noticing this; however, prices are starting to drop quickly on new and pre-owned Bronco's.

Dealers are starting to list prices at MSRP now and private owners are asking below MSRP. I'm also seeing a significant increase in dealer inventory and private owner sales. I would definitely not pay over MSRP now and the people who pay the insane prices for the Raptor are taking a bath.

Do you have any links to dealers listing at MSRP for 2 door Badlands? Or private owners below MSRP? I've been looking everywhere with no luck. I'm in CA but willing to travel.

I really really hope you are right. I stopped by Towne in Redwood City a couple days ago and they had a cancelled Wildtrak on the lot. They were asking 20k over MSRP. No chance I get my Granger order filled this year and I would really like to take advantage of price protection before I lose it.

the dealer near me who is sitting on 20 or so new and used ones disagrees. all are 20k to 30k over MSRP.

Let them rot.

Damn where are you folks seeing Broncos of any trim for MSRP on lot... here in LA, the average is like $10-15k. For higher trims, they're 20k+ and they don't stay on the lot for longer than a week.
