So I just added HOSS 3.0 to my order. I placed my order last fall for a Wildtrac. The base price at the time was $47780. The new MSRP has a base price of $49,780. My total for the vehicle is just over $60,000. After checking into the pricing, it's my understanding that upon taking delivery of the vehicle, the dealership is suppose to "refund" the $2000 difference provided that I didn't make a change of model, number of doors, and a couple other items. The dealership in turn will be compensated by Ford Motor Company at time of delivery to the customer on the order. Is this just wishful thinking? Will my price upon delivery be the MSRP/Invoice minus $2000? I've contacted my dealer but have not heard back. Would just like to be a step ahead if possible.

When I asked my sales guy about adding the HOSS I was told it would adopt the MY22.5 MSRP because it was a MY22.5 option. Of course that could just be uneducated sales guy talk, or it could be the truth...I didn't feel what would amount to almost 5k in additional cost was worth the risk

hope it's just "uneducated sales guy talk"

My understanding and not necessarily correct. If you had a prior reservation you are eligible for pricing protection. If that is the case the HOSS would be the only increase to your order.

I ordered 10/2021 with no prior reservation. I am expecting that I will get both the 22.5 price bump as well as the HOSS cost.

I have placed an order, will this mid-year price increase affect my pricing?
If you do not change your order after March 7, 2022, and take delivery of your 2022 MY Bronco, your order qualifies for retail order price protection. This protects the MSRP of the vehicle at the time the 2022 order was received by Ford. Final transaction details, including price, will be agreed upon by you and the dealer.

I would understand this to mean my MSRP at time of order on 10/14/22 is the one I'll pay (other than the addition of HOSS)

You are only eligible for price protection if your order was converted from a much earlier reservation. The order date itself is too late to quality.

Just quoting
2022 MY Pricing for Customers Who Placed a Reservation After March 19, 2021, or Placed an Order Without a Reservation After March 19, 2021
What does it mean if I placed a reservation after March 19, 2021, or placed an order without a reservation after March 19, 2021?
If you fall into either of these categories, it means that you do not qualify for the Bronco Price Protection Program. The cutoff for that program was placing an order or reservation on or before March 19, 2021.

I have an unconverted reservation that was placed after March 19, 2021. Will price increases affect me?
If you convert by March 7, 2022, your order will reflect the initial 2022 MY pricing. If you convert your reservation after March 7, 2022, your order will reflect the most current pricing. Final transaction details, including price, will be agreed upon by you and the dealer.

Will changing my order after March 7, 2022, affect my Bronco's price?
Changing your series, equipment package, the number of doors, or 4x4 system will cause your order to reflect new mid-year price levels. Make sure your order is configured properly prior to the March 7, 2022 cut-off. If your vehicle is not built in the 2022 MY, your new 2023 order will reflect 2023 MY price levels. Final transaction details, including price, will be agreed upon by you and the dealer.

Just quoting from above, states that you are protected by retail price protection at the time you placed your order, the MSRP at time of order (after March 19, 2021) as long as you don't change the items noted.

Who qualifies for the Bronco Price Protection Program?
If you placed an order or reservation prior to March 19, 2021, you qualify for price protection. If you are not part of this program, make sure your order in the system is accurate, as changing your series, equipment package, number of doors, or 4x4 system after March 7, 2022, may result in increased vehicle prices. See below for more detail.

What qualifies as a series, equipment package, number of doors, or 4x4 system change?
An example of a series change would be going from Badlands™ to Big Bend™. An equipment package refers to base, mid, high, or lux package. A door change would mean going from a four-door to two-door and vice versa. A 4x4 system change means changing the standard 4x4 system to or from the advanced 4x4 system.

If you start collecting spare change found in parking lots, vending machines, couches, you should have enough by the time you take delivery to cover the difference.. 😉
