Is there a way to make the car beep when you press the lock button on the door handle? Sometimes I’m not even sure that it locked as other than hearing it lock, there’s no other signal. Am I missing something or is this not an option? I know that if I push the remote and lock it it will beep or honk the horn. I’m more interested in it giving me a beep locking it by the door handle.

Secondly, anyone else have problems with the door not unlocking when the key is in your coat pocket or in a backpack that you carry around for work? It’s a new car so the battery in the key fob should be new.

For your second question - Yes, on rare occasions. I sometimes need to get slightly closer to the handle and it works.

That would be slick. I listen for the lock actuators to clunk but sometimes they can be hard to hear. Maybe Forscan?

I often use the rear tailgate lock button for this reason, especially when it's really windy/hard to hear the locks, as you can see the flash of the rear lights as the locks are actuated.
As far as unlocking, I occasionally pull on the handle before the locks unlock which can cause it to get confused.

I find it strange as well that their is no armed or disarmed sound. Also wish we had a light that blinks to alert others that the alarm system is armed. Might not mean anything to everyone but gives me slight peace of mind.

with the remote you can press lock twice and it honks, don't think that works on the door. You can always pull the door handle right after locking and it will show you if it's locked, there's a slight delay before touching the 'open' sensor would unlock it again. Or if you have 4 doors, pull on the rear handle. Or just look inside, easy to see if it's locked or not.

I'm actually quite happy that it doesn't make a sound, my old Taco always beeps when I lock and unlock, never liked that.

as for a blinking LED, a crook would just assume a modern car has an alarm and not care, nor does anyone else if it goes off. I see the alarm as a rather useless and mostly just annoying feature nowadays. Having a kind of stun gun device armed inside the seat would be a better deterrent 🙃

Edit to add: sometimes mine doesn't unlock right away or fast enough, unlock while I pull the handle but just a tad too late, so I have to pull again. Not often and doesn't bother me. You can always touch the sensor first and wait for the locks to open before pulling the handle. Seems like it should not be that way, but also not a big deal to me.

I also mostly lock from the rear door, simply because I have to walk around the back in my driveway and that's just faster/easier in a way, push door shut while walking away, press lock button on way around the rear.

The "lock" button on the handle is for locking only. Grabbing the handle is what unlocks it.

Honking should be outlawed. Scares crap out of people.

Is there a way to unlock all the doors by touching the cargo door handle?

I have mine set to unlock all doors if I touch the driver or passenger handle. I find it odd the cargo door doesn’t do the same, unless I missed a setting somewhere?

Funny thing is, when I pull the handle To test if it’s locked, it unlocks 😂. Then I play this game where I look like I have OCD and end up just pushing the lock button on the key. I wish it was like my current vehicle where it locks automatically when I walk away and unlocks when I approach

I have a 2018 Edge and it works, and always has, just like your Bronco.

Absolutely agree. Every car I’ve had in the last 20 years has a blinking red light showing that security is on. I would just like a sound that states that the car is armed and locked when you push the button on the door handle. I can barely hear it sometimes and I have to go over to the passenger side window and see if the driver side door is locked or not.

If you have the Keypad and press the 7/8 + 9/0 buttons it will lock the doors. A second push of the same buttons will chirp the horn just like the remote.

My Wildtrak unlocks fine when I grab the handle, but it doesn't lock nearly as well most of the time. I stand there moving my hand around and pushing the button, and grabbing the handle, trying to find the right solution for it to lock. Usually it will finally lock, but kind of a pain.🫤

Mine does this exact same thing. Maybe we are doing something wrong.🤔
