No it has nothing to do with any package (a 2023 Badlands with the High/Lux package wouldn't have HOSS 3.0) It was the upgraded rack, and Fox shocks (At one time exclusive to the WT), in my24 every Sas Bronco as well as non-Sas Badlands got the rack.
I think I was reading that it is now standard on the 2024 models

The biggest part of Hoss 3.0 was the heavy duty rack, and in 24 every bronco with Sas got that same rack standard. So if looking at a 23 it might make a difference, in a 24 all you are getting are 2 year old used shocks (I certainly wouldn't value that to high).

4 doors, I know, I wonder what the backstory is?
Some states, not all, require the dealer to register their used cars. So a new car that gets traded or sold back to a dealer would have at least two and sometimes more transactions if it was then resold to another dealer. This is also common with leased vehicles which sometimes get reregistered by the leasing company or banks. Ask the dealer to provide you with a detailed ownership history.

That makes sense, but I'm passing on that particular one.

I went down to check out that 2024 WT
I went down to check this WT out yesterday. There was something about it that just didn't look as nice, or sit as right as some of the other, WT, Badlands w/SAS and the Base, I looked at.
I couldn't really get comfortable in it. The leather seats were too stiff and confining for me and I couldn't get the seat adjusted right. I really wanted to fall in love with but did not.
Too me, the new Base with SAS I drove was more comfortable and looked better. I actually like the wheels better as well. I know it doesn't have all the bells & whistles the WT does, but I'd be OK with it.
Total transparency, I don't think I'd be wheeling this Bronco, I've been out to Moab and a couple places out here in my old Jeep, and as cool as that was, I had a great time, at the time, but those days are behind me now. I'm old and just want a cool daily.

Anyway, as my wife and I said with any vehicle, if the purchase doesn't feel right, pass on it.
On with the search...

Base gets you the essentials of a Bronco. Although $8k for Sas is a chunk of change, if not using the functionality for off-roading. I noticed Ford still has the manual Sas penalty, if going automatic anyway, the Sas cost is effectively less at $6k.

Agreed though, with a big purchase you want to feel right about it. I walk if feeling rushed or not fully comfortable with a purchase. Once I broke that rule and got burned. Not again.

2023 had a mid year suspension change from Hoss 2.0 to Hoss 3.0 (Fox). You want the Fox.

I think I'm going to look at a Big Bend mid with black appearance package today
Has some of the creature comforts I'm looking for for less than the Base +SAS

Thoughts on a First Edition? There's one here locally, Certified Pre-owned, with 28k miles.
I always thought it's better to stay clear of a first year introduction. I'll be looking at it this weekend.
However, the Carfax shows there are about 6 open "remedy available" recalls, with a couple without a fix available right now. 2 in particular have me worried, the Engine Valve Inspection Test and Low Pressure Fuel Pump Failure that shows a remedy is not yet available. The dealership contacted me and said any recalls would be addressed prior to me taking a look at it.
I know I've been all over the place since my initial post, but I do appreciate all the help so far.

I'm going to be out on these for a bit. Maybe going in a different direction. Thanks for all the help.

I'm pretty sure CarFax only counts registrations as owners.

I would also steer clear of a used vehicle with three owners over 20K, unless I knew the owners/history personally.
One needs to know how the State does it...if a dealer is logged as a registrant and dealer trades, that could be two 'owners' before the first real sale...
