Possible Wiper Fixes - Easy / Free / Cheap!!!

Just this morning, driving to work, I tested out my wipers.
It was raining pretty steady but could not make the wipers slow down.
Even when I reached the tunnel portion of my commute, I ran them on high with a dry window and still no slow down.

I've only experienced it on the low, non intermittent setting. High usually works with no issues for me

Update:
Well, today, just now, on my drive home during a light rain, I experienced the slowdown twice when there was basically no rain, flipped to high and back. But, as long as there was some rain, they never slowed down. And the rain was so light I would have probably used the first intermittent setting if I wasn't testing - I didn't see any other cars running their wipers on low.

Now, the biggest reason I think they are fixed, is that after awhile the rain stopped, and the wipers slowed down. However, and this is something I've never seen happen, as soon as the rain started again, they sped right back up during the next wipe!!!

Well, been meaning to check in. My current status is that if I turn the wipers on, and they slow down, I turn them to high and back to low, and then they stay on. This has happened multiple times now

Checking back in. Had a lot of rain lately and I haven't experienced the slowdown at all. I wonder if part of this is that they loosen up over time? Maybe when new, everything is so tight that the motor is sensing an overload.
