This morning I returned to my 2023 Wildtrak to find a bent piece of metal [similar to the top of a coat hanger] bent at the perfect angle and wedged between the crack of the hood and hanging over the fender flare by the antenna [passenger side]. One end of the angled metal wire was smooth and the other was jagged and looked like it had ripped after being bent too far. Anyone experience this before? No damage to the paint or car. However, the wire was bent and placed too perfectly in the gap to be a damn coincidence…

Anyone know of this method to steal cars, or what they were trying to get to? I can’t imagine someone doing this with the best of intentions…

Thanks in advanced…

Maybe an attempt to release the hood or get to the battery? Even though the battery is on the other side of the engine compartment…

Either way - what a jack ass for touching your rig.
Glad nothing was damaged, hope it stays that way.

Cheers

Must be hard to steal a Bronco high on crack.

When they tried for my F150, they wrench the lock cylinder and get in. Before they do that, the scumbag thief unclips the horn behind the grille.

Luckily, they were unable to clone my fob and they just removed the trim in the passenger footwell.

I have a Ravelco installed now. Our Bronco does not have Ravelco. Broncos can have their fobs cloned.

Thieves should get 50000 volts or racked and quartered.

You're not going to release the hood by doing anything at that end? Not like the hinges pop off.

I think it's just something someone found on the ground and they put it there so someone (you, perhaps) wouldn't run over it and get a flat.
