I am purchasing a soft top from a forum member on here who bought their bronco with the DUAL top option (hard top came installed from the factory and the soft top in packaging in the trunk) and I was wondering if anyone could help us out...

Will the soft top have everything needed to install it on my hard top bronco? I understand from some digging online that there are six essential brackets: the two main trunk brackets with 3 bolts each, two roof/rollbar brackets with 2 bolts, and two rear latch brackets in the trunk with 1 bolt each, along with a pair of trim plastic pieces for the outside and another pair of trim plastic pieces for the trunk to cover the trunk brackets.

Did you dual top owners have to hunt down all of the extra brackets, or was everything included? Or was it already installed on your Bronco? I don't think the owner would like me wrenching on their bronco to remove anything! :)

Thanks for all your help!

I just did this exact swap earlier this summer (buying a soft top from a dual top owner to install on my hardtop vehicle).

The 3 pairs of brackets are pre-installed on the dual-top Bronco from the factory. You will either need to remove those from the sellers truck, or buy them yourself. You also need to get the bolts. The seller has no need for these brackets if they aren't using the soft top.

The exterior set of trim comes in a box on the softtop pallet, along with the required bolts.

The interior set of trim pieces are installed on the Bronco from the factory. You'll have a similar set on your truck, covering up the location where the soft top bolts in. The only difference between the soft top and the hard top trim is that the soft top trim has a slot cut out so the soft top frame fits through. For this one, you have a couple options. You can trade trim pieces with the seller, giving him your hard-top trim for their softtop trim. You can buy the soft top trim. You can cut a slot in the hard-top trim with a utility knife to allow it to fit around the frame. Or, you can just leave the trim piece off (it's really just aesthetic).
