Question: Does the Ford Performance tune get uploaded to the vehicle, or does it require the ford performance tuner tool to remain hooked up to the OBDII port?

Once it's uploaded you can disconnect the Procal tool. While it does come with a mount, really the only thing it offers being connected is additional gauge data readouts like temps etc.

So in theory you could double stack a tune, with an additional bypass tuner after ford performance upload? Because its saved as the new stock performance within the vehicle computer system correct?

In Theory of course.....

Forgive me if I'm way off base here I'm kind of new to this tune thing.

How long do you figure it took to install? My dealer is expecting this, a perimeter sensor for the alarm, and a tow hook (just 2 simple bolts in the rear bumper, to match the one that's on the left) to take a day and a half...? From my experience with a Dodge tune (PCM replacement) it's only about an hour.

You should have gotten a piece of paper with a software key/voucher code on it. Register that to your Ford Performance account and provide your login information to your dealer (or whomever is installing it).

You don't have to touch anything else. You can update the ProCal itself if you want, but not necessary... you just need to attach the voucher code to your account.

(And change your Ford Performance account password after they install it.)
Glad I saw this, I would not have thought of it.
