Painting the Hard Top

Has anyone painted the hard top or know how it should be done. Definitely not trying myself but was hoping to get some pointers so that if i take it to a body shop I'll know what they should be doing.

I was looking at maybe doing mine, and I don't think there is anything special required.
(I Design/Build Custom Rides, so I know a bit about painting).
Basecoat, clearcoat, done.

What about prep, should we sand it or anything like etching?

Let's see, OP is from Canada, username is goneAWOL and says he will be painting the Bronco in Mexico. I feel like we're missing some backstory here...

As far as painting the MIC top, yes you will need to do some prep work. From the threads I have read, most who have painted the top have sanded it near smooth and recommend an adhesion promoter before the prime coat as well.
