Do you think it'll buff out? 😉
I'd recommend a good powder coat, it finally took a good ding on a climb to show damage.

I wear those scuffs with pride.

Man what a pain though. Getting all the bolts out with every single one being locktite’d. I had to break every one loose with a ratchet and a T45 torx and then I could buzz them off with my impact driver.

Used Raptor1k wheel paint from auto zone. Also the blend 3m scuff pad. That made quick work of the factory finish and made it perfect to spray with the 1k, no primer.

Huge pain in the ass to clean them, then scuff then clean again then paint. But they all came out awesome. I’d do it again if I have to. Total cost was $27 all from auto zone. Also I was lucky enough to get all 5 wheels completely finished black under the rings. I know some weren’t all the way finished.

Before they added Hoss 3.0, my first attraction to Wildtrak was the gloss black exterior accents.

The $64 question is.... how difficult was it removing, and re installing the little Torx screws ?
Not fun. They all faught me every single one. All needed to be manually broken loose with a 1/2” ratchet. Then I was able to finish removing them with my 3/8 24v impact driver. Then back on with the impact driver and tq’d them all to 48ft/lbs. in a star pattern. Lots of work. But worth it because all I really wanted from the wildtrack were the black wheels and sport mode. Both of which I have now plus I got the rubber floors and all the complete off-road goodies that came with my badlands Sasquatch.

I recently powercoated a set of rings from Sas take offs to more or less match the Badlands badge. I was fortunate enough that the tires were already removed and I found using a heat gun to warm up the bolts made removal easy peasy. I reinstalled with anti-seize and after checking the bolt tension after 50 miles and then about 200 miles later, they haven't come loose at all. $200 at a local powdercoaters.

Purchased mine off the internet last year for a reasonable price and I was quite happy with the quality. Thankfully, I had no issues with removal of the old rings and installation of the new.

I’ve painted mine. Mine get scratched often enough that when they get sufficiently beat up, I remove, sand and repaint.

What color spray paint are you using if you don't mind sharing. I'm shopping for a used wildtrack 2 door and I love the look of the silver alloy beauty rings, my plan was to replace or paint the black beauty rings with silver alloy look.
