Does anyone have any intel on the future of Outback Adventure Products?

I recently learned Doug Horne (owner/founder) passed away in September of last year (2025). Sad to hear this news, as every interaction I read that people had with him it was a positive one and he was well liked by the industry.

I’m posting this because I previously purchased a trailgater table for my Bronco last month. I emailed last week asking about it, didnt hear anything so I called this week and left a voice mail, still nothing. It also seems every product on their website says it’s backordered.

Are they no longer in business?

Sorry to hear about Doug Horne. I met him a couple of years ago at an Overland Expoe. Real nice guy. I have a Trailgator, he put a lot of thought into the design.

Wow, didn't know that... sad to hear.

I've talked to Doug several times via email and over the phone. To the best of my knowledge, it was very much a "guy in his garage" type of operation, perhaps with a few close acquaintances or family members to help him pack and ship. I obviously can't say for certain, but I doubt the company had the infrastructure in place to continue without him.

I purchased 12/19/25.

I emailed 1/03/26 asking about the backorder with no response.

I received a separate email from Joe Horne (Doug’s son possibly?) on 1/31/26 saying congrats on my order, that the item is backordered, and should ship the week of 2/20/26.

No shipping info or update as of today 2/21/26.

I’m confident the table will ship, they are just extremely behind with orders and production.

I did.

I emailed again, a week after the 2/21 date I was given. It arrived about 11 weeks from purchase date. Pleased with the product, as always. They’re just super behind and dont have the personnel to even answer the phone or return voicemails/emails.
