Order question

Hello Everyone, I submitted my reservation on 6/25/2021, around 10/15 i was notified it was time to place my order. I waited to at least test drive the vehicle, i was able to test drive a badlands last week with 10 speed 2.3 even though i reserved a manual. I finally placed my order on December 1 and paid the $500 for a 2022 badlands 7 speed lux with hardtop. My question is basically how long would it take for the order to move from order confirmed to scheduled for production? Thank you everyone for your time and your feedback!

Hard top BL you could be waiting for a while. For reference, I reserved my hard top on July 14, 2020 and had an ETA of 2 days ago. I still don’t have my Bronco. There are many ordered within hours of me that would kill for my problems. Supposedly things are moving quicker in general now but patience (and soul crushing delay) is the name of the game. Good luck!

There are many variables that come into play, primarily related to your dealers allocations, your reservation/order date and where you stand in line in relation to other orders at that dealer and lastly what you ordered in regards to constraints. There was a post today on Bronco Nation that the current constraints are towing, MIC, and the PPF. An honest guess would be 12 months but there are many people with early reservations that have yet to get their Bronco.

at a guess (which is all anyone has as Ford has a history of changing the 'rules'), if you have the perfect dealer (lots of allocations and not a lot of builds similar to yours), I would say anywhere from eight months to a worst case of maybe 3 years (if you have a Granger/Stephens deal or a small dealer where low allocations and lots of similar orders). Ford does not consider how many reservation orders a dealer has when deciding where to send Bronco's.

edit; middle of the road guestimate of 15 months is probably best reasonable case. (AKA you are not getting a 2022)

If you're lucky, mid next year....
I am hoping mid year hopefully supply chain issues such as chip shortages and labor issues improve in 2022. Thanks for the reply!

I see, would it improve my timeline if I tried to change the roof to soft top? And if I do decide to change the roof to soft top I will need to contact my dealer? As I cant edit my order since it was placed? Or am I mistaken once order is submitted cant change any options? Thank you.

3 years? Ouch! If its longer then 1 year or so then I might just have to contemplate something else. I am willing to wait 12 months or so considering so many issues with production and many reservation holders in the same boat. What is the primary cause of such long wait times? Pandemic? Doc you see things improving in 2022? Thanks!

You do have to contact your dealer to make changes, but you can change anything up until you are assigned a build date and get your VIN.

A soft top would make your build more likely to happen sooner, but there are still a lot of variables.

Unless you are at a low-volume dealer with a ton more reservations than allocations, you shouldn't have to wait three years. Most orders will get filled in 2022 barring further major supply chain disruptions.

The exception will be some of the smaller dealers who have a lot of Bronco orders.

The real answer is no one knows... You chose a very popular combination with some constrained commodity selection criteria so it may take longer. If you spend some time surfing this forum, you will find there are customers that didn't even have a reservation who have a build date already (even hard top orders) while the same time opening day 2020 reservations that haven't heard a peep for production schedule.

That isnt going to happen. I work for a large computers system manufacturing company, and work with the logistics of that company. The issue is getting worse till 2024, not better. "Hold on to your butts" as they say...

Until TSMC, Intel, etc all get their new fabs in Arizona churning and churning real numbers for that matter, we will see no change in the delays. Demand is only increasing and supply is stagnant or decreasing rapidly, so that is not going to be good. Expect more delays, not less.

Not trying to be a downer on your order, but things are getting worse, not better for chip supplies for the next year to 1.5 years, then maybe if all else stays okay, they will BEGIN to catch up.

1.5 YEARS maybe 2 years
strikeouts are BL , lux, hardtop
Man I really wanted a bd 7 speed with mid package but they pushed me all out since I really wanted some lux tech options like the 360 camera, and adaptive cruise control. I guess its been a hit and miss from ford. What do you think ford can do to speed up the production ? Thanks!
