I bought something similar, but did not use it. Used a large price of cardboard and a large oil pan. Held the pan up and took out the plug…not a drop hit the ground/cardboard.

Amazon boxes, on the ground, since I seem to have an endless supply of them and I always seem to spill something somewhere no matter how hard I try.
Most of our techs have them for their drain buckets. Prevents splash. Also saves drain plugs and washers going down the drain can. Works great when working on transmissions just drop all the screws on the screen when taking down the pan.
