OEM Roof Rack Wait Time

My original Bronco reservation was March 2021. I received my 22 model year Big Bend 4 door in the middle of September 2022. When my dealer updated the order to MY22 they accidentally dropped off the roof rack. When I got the "in production" email in August is when I noticed it was not on the order and it was too late to have it added before it left the factory. So my dealer ordered one in August and said they would notify me when the received it. Now it's been 8 weeks and they still do not have it. I know these are back ordered. Has anyone received one recently? How long did it take for you to get it from order date? I really want a ski rack this winter. @Ford Motor Company when will the roof rack be back in stock?

I been there, man... got my Bronco with no roof rack and definitely felt something was missing from the top of the roof. I ordered one off the Ford accessories site, and this was before they put the "sold out" wording when it wasn't in stock. Was looking forward to finally get it... till I was notified by them that production of it was postponed due to a vendor unable to supply a component. Probably something simple, like a bracket or a screw.

Almost gave up, until I found one on sale on here in my state. It was a miracle-- just put it on about a month ago. Keep looking you'll get one...eventually.

I got excited that the two door OEM roof rack was back in stock because on the Ford accessories website I was able to order one as long as I included dealer installation when ordering. If I unchecked the dealer installation box it would say it was on backorder and I could not order. But if I included dealer installation it let me order it. So I did. Fast forward two days and I received an email saying my item is on backorder. Not sure why it lets you order it with dealer installation but not without. Maybe that is the only way you can order it even when it’s in stock?

I noticed the Ford Accessory website showed them available again a couple days ago as well. I was hopeful that meant mine would be delivered soon but I still haven’t received any updates. I am getting it through the dealer for the original add-on price of $350 from 2021 so it makes sense for me to wait. It’s been 3 months now, order was put in 9/1.

Oof, three months and counting. How are you getting it at the original add on price?

If anyone is following this my roof rails were delivered yesterday. Got them installed with a Yakima ski rack in about 1.5 hours. Happy with the look and design. Feel solid.

Still following. I ordered my rack three weeks ago. I then got a message saying that it was on back order. A few days ago I got an email noting that the item was no longer on backorder, and sure enough I went to the site and saw that it no longer said sold out. But since I had already ordered one I figured my order would be filled. Later that day I saw that the item was sold out again. And yet my order does not seem to have been filled. Frustrating.

Did you order through the dealer or directly through Ford Accessories? Mine was ordered by my dealer. I also noticed they were available again on the website so I contact my dealer again letting them know. I don't know all the details but originally they said they were waiting on a supplier in Detroit to fill the order, but ultimately it ended up coming out of Philly. I did wait over 3 months.

I ordered directly but for it to be sent to and installed by my dealer. I guess I’m only at three weeks so I will be patient. Congrats on getting yours!

Yeah, aftermarket may actually be the real deals coming straight from overseas, bypassing Ford... Which may be why they're delayed...

Did you get the Yakima crossbars or get the ski rack attached to the factory cross bars?

I went with the Thule that attaches directly to the cross bars through the Ford Accessory website. They were running a 20% sale which made it comparable to everywhere else. Part No VM1PZ7855100G .
