Well it appears that the Chicagoland area dealers are all simultaneously dropping the ball as far as communication goes. ?

That is if I'm reading these recent comments correctly.

I too reserved with Rod Baker. I haven't gotten an email, phone call, or nothing since reserving on 7/14. Thinking about dropping by some day this week.

I haven't purchased from them at all just picked one of the 2 nearest dealerships. I've had my vehicles serviced at Ron Tirapelli Ford since moving out here, but never purchased with either.

My family has purchased vehicles from both, both new cars. 2014 my parents got an explorer and ended up going to Tirapelli because they didn't like the salesman they were working with at Rod Baker. Last year my dad purchased an F-150 from Rod Baker just because they had the trim+engine package already and it had sat on the lot for about 8 months so there wasn't much to do with the salesman since it was already discounted.

I also haven't heard anything from Rod Baker yet, but I also didn't make a reservation until early November in plans of getting pushed to MY22. That is concerning if you have a day two reservation and they haven't reached out yet. Hopefully they do so by the end of the week.

Kind of what I'm thinking. I've got 4 dealers! I'm fishing...only one is responsive at all: Hopkins in Elgin.

I went with Granger. My dealer wouldn't match or even come close to Granger.

I think they have so much traffic they don't fight to sell cars. They probably don't really care if you leave.

This was my experience with multiple car purchases in Chicago. Originally I'm from a rural town in Western Illinois, so a little bickering in the dealership is common. Not up here. They were unwilling to work with me on anything, so I've refused to purchase vehicles here. Wisconsin roadtrip for our Kia Optima and I'll be heading to Granger Ford for the Bronco.
