I don't get to drive my bronco everyday, so it might sit for a week without starting up. When I do start it up it makes alot of noise (I don't think its lifter noise). This is a 2.7l engine, is this normal for direction engine?
Also when I put it in drive and pull out, it sounds like I am dragging something. This happens for the first 50 feet or so.
I don't notice any of this when the truck is warmed up.
Thanks

You are gonna have to describe the startup noise. Does it last for just a second or two? If so, phasers is where my mind goes. Had it on my 3.5. Basically sounds like a loose chain flopping around until it tensions.

The dragging noise is not familiar.

The dragging sound--rusty brakes from sitting?

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

Does it sound like this? If so, it's the cam phasers. Just got mine replaced at 10k miles - fortunately it was only at the dealer for 3 days for the fix, all under warranty, but they do have to pull the whole engine.

Its going to take a while to get a video because it has to sit for a few days. I don't have the big knock sound on start up.
