I just ordered my base 2 door about 2-3 weeks ago and was curious what information I should expect in the coming months? Email notification, dealership? Obviously I'll be waiting a while. Was told between April and july, not sure if that's even close from what I've been reading and seeing.

Cheers

The two door part is the problem. If Ford pays even the tiniest bit of lip service to the remaining reservations, even if you have favorable order to allocations at your dealer, it is most likely going to be a long ass time before they get to you. They are already scheduled up to what? March? Even if you were scheduled soon for April or May, not likely you would receive it by July of this year. Not impossible mind you, but unlikely. Ford should email you when it is scheduled, then again when it is in production, then at shipping

So Ford’s first communication to people is when they schedule the build? No email to acknowledge your order?

You ordered in 2020 and don't have your two door base? So they giving you a 2021 model in 2023? Does this even make sense?

I would expect absolutely zero communication in the coming months, outside of maybe some invites to the Off-Rodeo, and some free Bronco merchandise of dubious value. If we're lucky, Ford will possibly send out a mass email or two about how production is going.

For reference, I reserved a two-door in October 2020. My only communications about my specific order have been:
January 2021: It's time to order for MY21 (and the order confirmation)
October 2021: It's time to reorder for MY22 (and the order confirmation)

Not expecting anything else until "it's been scheduled".

For your specific order, expect nothing until your Bronco has been assigned a build week.

Your dealer may give you updates... but that highly depends on the dealer. My dealer will send out periodic updates to all of their Bronco order holders when they get some info from Ford. And they will also send out an email if they receive a Bronco that was abandoned by the original order holder in case anyone wants to buy it. But that's basically it.

They just moved us to the 2022 model year, and those of us who ordered before mid-March 2021 were given a rebate certificate that covers the MSRP increase between 2021 and 2022.

Good chance there will be a sizable chunk of people who get moved to 2023--wouldn't be surprised if you end up being one of those people. Though it ultimately depends on your dealer's allocations, how quickly global supply chains are able to recover from the Covid shock, and how quickly Ford is able to increase production.
with more of of people getting Covid again won't be surprise if there is more delays
