New to the forum and looking forward to learning from other's experiences and sharing info going forward. Getting ready to place an order for a Badlands (w/out SAS) with the objective of building a long-range overland truck for travels thru the American West/Northwest, Canada/Alaska and then fine tune before pointing the nose towards Central and South America.
Have had a long history of off-road trucks (2-dr and 4-dr Mitsubishi Monteros, Land Rover Disco) and spent 26 years in the military with desert driving overseas thrown in for good measure. Recently coming from performance/driver's car perspective driving a Porsche and two different MINIs with local clubs in the US. My philosophy for overlanding is simple: 1) it's about the travel... the truck is the tool to make it happen; and 2) keep the weight down and available payload up - don't bolt on anything that doesn't have a purpose. Interested in meeting/discussing with like-minded individuals in the Bronco sphere.
My father-in-law is currently awaiting the delivery of his two-door base Bronco out in New Mexico. Looks like we're going to be an all Bronco, fly-fishing family.
