New to the forum and looking forward to learning from other's experiences and sharing info going forward. Getting ready to place an order for a Badlands (w/out SAS) with the objective of building a long-range overland truck for travels thru the American West/Northwest, Canada/Alaska and then fine tune before pointing the nose towards Central and South America.

Have had a long history of off-road trucks (2-dr and 4-dr Mitsubishi Monteros, Land Rover Disco) and spent 26 years in the military with desert driving overseas thrown in for good measure. Recently coming from performance/driver's car perspective driving a Porsche and two different MINIs with local clubs in the US. My philosophy for overlanding is simple: 1) it's about the travel... the truck is the tool to make it happen; and 2) keep the weight down and available payload up - don't bolt on anything that doesn't have a purpose. Interested in meeting/discussing with like-minded individuals in the Bronco sphere.

My father-in-law is currently awaiting the delivery of his two-door base Bronco out in New Mexico. Looks like we're going to be an all Bronco, fly-fishing family.

Welcome aboard. All I can tell you is that there are several threads about crappy dealers. Be careful which one you choose. At least a couple of them are in MD.
There is so much info on this forum and tons of it comes from great people and great sponsors. There are also a bunch of people that complain ALL THE TIME. You will learn to filter it out and ignore.

Howdy and welcome aboard!!! Garrett County here. Expected delivery 12/29. 2 door Basesquatch. My wife's idea of overlanding is treking from one hotel to another. So far so good with my small family owned dealership, Diehl's Ford in Grantsville. As posted above, beware of the dealers, several in Maryland have been shown to be less than ethical...

Bradley, thanks. I see you're in Charlottesville and going Badlands w/SAS. Sounds great and I hope you won't have long to wait for your vehicle.

Thanks Paul. I'm currently scheduled for a 1/03 week build. But those have been known to be slippery.

John, thanks for the "heads up". I have been getting an appreciation for the minefield that is ordering and (then) taking delivery of the Bronco and have read quite a few "tales of woe" regarding dealership interactions. Knowledge is power, as they say. Forums like this are a great help.

Hey there Garrett County. Nothing wrong with a good hotel and a great meal at the end of a long drive. Like you, I think we've target locked on our own small dealership (Century Ford) nearby in Mt. Airy. My wife had a good experience there when she bought herself a Ford Explorer just coming off a lease. And, I've seen at least two others post in this forum that they have successfully ordered and taken delivery of a Bronco from them. So, that's where we will make our reservation.

Get a build sheet and then get a written commitment by the dealership to sell the vehicle at MSRP (or whatever you can negotiate below) before you place the order. It's just easier than waiting months and months and then getting the surprise markup.

Rcarpen22: Roger that. For the build sheet, I'm referencing Ford's 2022 Bronco Price List (dtd 13 SEP 2021) to tick the boxes on desired trim/option Series Codes and suggested retail costs. I intend to ask for a signed/dated Ford Dealership Purchase Agreement on the total cost (less tax, title). Though I understand that it may not be legally binding, it does communicate intent between the myself and the dealership and makes things uncomfortable if the dealership attempts to add ADM at delivery time. As they say, "it's all about the journey".
