My thoughts on 2 door at Super Cel

Totally happy to be in the minority of owners rockin' the 2 door -- means my standard shift base rig should stand out in a sea of CG White Top "overland" lookin' mall crawlers.

Same here. Tired of everyone on here discussing CG or A51 4 doors with or without Squatch and if we can get real Corinthian leather and a 16" screen for all passengers and if we can get it to automatically drive us to work while we sleep.

Shoot - doesn't seem much space to enter/exit the 2 door back seat. Was hoping Ford would have designed some slicker way to make space. Also the way the seat doesn't seem to stay slid forward, will make enter/exit more difficult, as can be seen in the video, where the guy is having to hold the seat forward while getting in/out.

I don't get why designers have gone backwards compared to some earlier vehicles. Checkout the room to enter/exit the back seat in the old CJ-7 (photo below). More space because the entire seat tilts forward - even more on the passenger side.

My guess is safety standards.

The more I stare at the pictures of this one the more I like the 33's. If that overland mock up barely squeezes 35's I may stick with the 33's a while. I dont like the over stuffed wheel wheel look but I also dont like the under stuffed look. Its very complicated.

I’ve been there three days in a row. 33s are perfection on that two door.

Don't worry, that's a great angle of the rear seat area. Looks like even more room compared to what another member posted earier today. I'm VERY satisfied with that. It looks fine for two adults on short trips around town. Good for my pup too. That's all I could ever need it for.

I really like the look of the 33s on the 2 door. Just seems like the right porportion to me. I also don't like the wider wheels/tires on the Sasquatch. I still think I'll go 2 door badlands with 33s and then change the tires to 285/75/17s when the time comes. Makes it just a bit taller for clearance but keeps the width the same.

3. The engineers said there will be a 4" step up in the rear floor if the seats are removed but it sure looked like the seats were mounted right to the floor.

If this were my weekend rig I'd get a 2 door and remove at least one rear seat for storage space.

Not so much that is somebody next to me at the 4 dr Overlander asked if there was storage under the platform in the back of the 4 door, "Ford" rep said "I dont know". I walked away.

Exactly. Everyone always entered/exited the rear seats in my 90 Bronco from the passenger side . Most any vehicle will have limited space from the driver side because of the steering wheel .

Yeah, head one collision and that seat lift retainer breaks and it send the person in the seat into the windshield.

I'm looking at my photos of the can & overland and the Area 51 looks about spot on. It looked about spot on in person too since they weren't that far apart. Unless he was comparing the color from when it was in the shaded area, and the cans are staged outside in the sun. So yeah, I disagree with the can color being off.

My unsolicited 2 cents:

-- 2 doors make sense for buyers who aren't planning on having passengers the majority of the time. If you're planning on others outside of 1 passenger, you should probably look at 4 doors.

-- If you want resale value, go 4 door. 2 doors significantly reduce the available market, so they will not draw as much money in a private or dealer sale. Likewise for a manual over an automatic transmission.

-- God invented the roof rack for a reason, if you're worried about moving gear, a rack will handle most of the requirement.

-- 2 doors absolutely look better, hands down, whether a Bronco or Wrangler the 2 door model always looks more rugged and less SUV.

-- 4 doors make sense if you want a larger fuel tank.

-- Aftermarket exhaust probably costs a nominal amount more if you buy a 4 door.

-- Off-road capability is slightly better if you go 2 door.

Other than those elements, I can't see any deciding factors at all. It will mostly be personal preference. If you're looking for a Bronco as a daily people hauler, you're buying the wrong vehicle. There are a plethora of better 4 door people hauler SUVs that cost less than a Bronco. For the 2k+ you'll pay for two more doors and more 'space' inside, you could have probably upped your packages. At the end, it will be a blend of personal/utility. If you're buying a Bronco as a family vehicle, you should probably seriously consider the 4 door.
