Hey guys,

Does anyone know if it's possible to modify an order in WBDO if it's only in Saved status?

It seems like they were able to add Towing Capability but that the body style (2 door / 4 door), Engine and Transmission were locked.

It looked like it brought up what should've been a menu but it was un-editable.

Is this normal?

Thanks

What is the priority code? And when was your original order date?

(Trying to ascertain a pattern with other orders that seem to be locked)

Moar info needed....Saved is basically like you started building it but didn't get to the point of actually telling the system it's an order. At this point saved means nothing until the order back reopens and it can be converted. If the dealer says you have an existing order and it's just save status, you in trouble.

I do not have that information.

This is an order someone else abandoned that was offered to me.

Basic options/packages can be modified but body (E5C/E5D), engine, and transmission appear locked.

Edit: saw the previous reply. I get that it's not "scheduled" yet, but that's why I thought it would be editable.

Like someone already went through the COVP for the conversion to 2023 and then decided they no longer want? If it wasn't converted prior to the cutoff, Ford was supposed to nuke the order in the system and if they didn't, the dealer was supposed to. Without actually seeing their stuff, I can't give you anything else but this is not how Ford intended this to go down post COVP cutoff.

No, it's an unscheduled 2023 order that the salesman couldn't figure out how to change Body (E5C/E5D), engine, or transmission on.

It's either a retail that was abandoned they're trying to skirt the system on or "stock" they show allocation for. Entirely possible Ford locked unverified retail orders so they couldn't be changed due to tight supply and scheduling but I'm too lazy to dig around to look for that EFC.

That order had to have undergone COVP before being converted to MY'23. Orders that didn't comply with COVP were to be eliminated from the order banks by Ford. So far, there is no evidence that has occurred. Not all dealers are operate with integrity and following how the programs are to be implemented.

For example, a local dealer in Florida had a MY'22 order placed for me. I cancelled that order in person in the spring. I received an email from Ford that my order has been updated for MY'23. Apparently, the dealer never cancelled the order. And they likely used my driver's license credentials that were on file at the time to comply with COVP so the order could be converted. That order is either being used to attain dealer stock on a build spec that dealer stock orders can't order or they are using that order for another customer who didn't have an order to begin with. In either case, the intent of COVP wasn't for dealers to skirt around the requirement only to game the system.

Yes, they said it's an abandoned retail order. The customer no longer wants to wait for it. It is flagged as retail in in WBDO.

That sucks if that's why. It's also weird they would only lock body, engine, and transmission. Thought I might have gotten lucky to at least get in line.

I was wondering if myself or the salesman were missing something. We click on Body and it gives what looks like a blue drop-down button but there's nothing else that pops up.

But the thing that matters is if the COVP conversion was done prior to the cutoff date. Meaning, the person that ordered it gave the dealer a copy of their driver's license and signed a buyers order. This was required for it to be converted to a 2023. If it was and in the past couple months, walked away, the dealer is supposed to cancel it in the system, not find someone else to give it to. Not getting at you but this part of the problem why people that have been waiting for 2+ years are still waiting. It might be a different story if the order was already built and inbound but that doesn't sound like the case here.

This is an issue with the dealer not following the policy/procedure Ford laid out some months ago in order to help clear out "abandoned" orders dealers were taking and selling like "stock". There are situations where the original order was abandoned but a lot of dealers were gaming the system to get units they shouldn't have which has caused a big rub with those still waiting.

Thanks, you explained this very well. I was having trouble following other replies.
