Might I suggest getting together with the FBI next time they run Lost Trail... It would give you a really good idea of what you can do with and without lockers... (FBI = Ford Broncos of Idaho)
I may do that, I've been wanting to do Lost Trail for a bit may be worth it.

Hmm for some reason it says the FB page isn't available right now.

comes up fine for me.... And yes Lost Trail is a really good one to learn on. There are some good challenges that are a bit more challenging without lockers. Last group run up lost was September 27 I think...
Weird I can view it when I log out of Facebook but can't when I am logged in. But hey I will have to make it out there, looks like it's going to be a fairly mild winter this year here unfortunately so should be able to make it out there before May

Great pics! We were down there the same week and definitely enjoyed the weather compared to back here in WA as well.
Very cool, saw your videos and they looked intense!

Fantastic pictures! My first ever visit to Moab was for the Off-Roadeo last June. Agree with your comments. It was spectacular! I want to visit again in the future with our Bronco, but that's about a 1,600-mile drive from SE Michigan, so it will require a bit more time.
Make the trip! - it's worth the drive and it goes by quicker than you'd think. Even after driving all week, the return trip was pretty effortless.

Do you think Poison Spider can be done without lockers as I am going in May and was thinking about it but don't know how possible it would be without them. Also, what did you think of Boise curious as I live in the Treasure Valley.
We only have a rear locker and we needed to use it quite a few times. A front locker would have been helpful - I had to reset tire placement or use a small bump to get up several of the ledges/ waterfalls. But was able to do the wedgie and deep v-notch without the front locked. All that being said, you can venture up the trail to see how you'd fare- the trail is pretty accessible and has a 'gatekeeper' ledge not far from the parking lot - if you don't make it up/ don't want to attempt, just turn back (which is what we did the first year due to mud and smaller tires).
We only stopped in Boise for the night on both ends of the trip so didn't see much. The Hampton Inn by the airport is very nice though!

I am going to guess you are not from here.... Spent time in a big city did you? There is always things to do at night in Boise (have to include the surrounding area)....

But then I grew up with three channels of TV so we always found things to do at night.

Awesome pics. Love the mountains in the view contrasting with the sandy landscape.

We did Fins N Things in Aug...105*.

Want to do Poison spider and top of the world hopefully next year but might run Fins N things again.

I have been here since I was 9, not saying there's nothing to do at night, there's plenty, just visually there's not much to see at night.

Not quite sure what you mean.... Hard to see in the dark unless you have lights.... LOL. Not much to see at night? What exactly are you wanting to "see" at night that could be found elsewhere but not here? Sorry, I do not mean to be insulting, please do not take it that way. I am just trying to understand what we are missing that I obviously do not know about.

oh man, 105°F is hot! I'd be struggling out there without much shade, I bet the slickrock is extra grippy though!

I don't think he was making a comparison about Boise to any other place....

Personally I read that as an inferred comparison. "Not much to see in Boise at night" infers that somewhere else is different, that there are things to "see" at night somewhere else. Otherwise the statement is meaningless..... All I am doing is wondering what it is I am missing.

No offense taken, I am not a wuss like most people my age lol. I am just meaning the main attractions here aren't open at night or are not seen cause most of it is hiking trails and views from the trails.

Do you ever run the Boise front? Great opportunity to get the Bronco out and there are some amazing views across the valley at night. You can run it all the way to Garden Valley in the summertime. A little more limited in the winter.

One thing I can recommend against... A live band inside Kuna Cave.... NOT a good idea. LOL... I have run lost trail at night.... (and in the rain simultaneously) and I know a few 4x4 clubs that have some runs in the Owyhee's at night. A couple of fun competitions where you have to "locate" some flashing markers. Things like that.

I haven't run the Boise front yet, looks like fun though and wouldn't mind doing it seems like it would be fun. Lost trail at night would be cool and the competitions do sound like fun.
