Mirror Haze

So I spent some time detailing my bronco this weekend. I travel once a week mostly on a highway and I get a lot of bugs as a result. I used some bug and tar remover on those areas but I think I may have inadvertently wiped over the driver side mirror. As a result I’ve got a pretty good haze over it. It doesn’t seem like it’s scratched. Any thoughts on what I can do to remove and get back it’s clear luster?

I’ve tried water at this point with no luck. Was going to try windex next but wanted to seek out some other opinions first

Isopropyl alcohol? Don't know what the proper mix with water would be, but willing to bet it'll get that off.

You can try wetting a rag in white vinegar let it sit on the surface for a few minutes then clean with a good window cleaner

CLR…… I use it on my bathroom glass shower doors. Gets everything off.

Just make sure you're careful with any method you use. The coating on the side mirrors can get burned through if you rub it too hard and will remove the reflective coating.

It seems like it’s some sort of residue—I tried a wet rag, and scratched at it with my fingernail. I;m debating on maybe taking a flat razor blade to it?

Hope I didn't catch this too late, because a razor will scratch the surface/coating.

Isopropanol first, if that doesn't work try ammonia, then try vinegar. Don't use a razor blade! The AR coatings on side mirrors can be pretty delicate.

Hard water mineral residue. It's very common around here.
