Hello,
I have a 2025 Bronco Big Bend with 7 speaker base system.
I have not seen a lot of information about the Metra speaker pods. I thought I would post a thread on my install of them. I have the pods are prepped and ready to install in the vehicle. I already upgraded the front speakers with the Hertz 100.3 speakers. That was a very good upgrade and definitely worth it. My next step is the pods. I am putting the NVX XSP65 Component set. NVX XSP65KIT 200W RMS 6.5" X-Series 2-Way Component Speakers

Here is my prep for the pods.

1. Prep the pod for drilling the hole for the tweeter. This is a 1 3/4 tweeter. I would not go any bigger than this or the tweeter would not fit.

2. Drill baby Drill...

3. Test fit the tweeter.

4. Prep the cables with tesa tape. And put some mounting foam tape on the tweeter.

5. Gather your parts for the install.

6. Install the Crossover and the tweeter.

7. Poly fill.

8. All assembled.

9. Finished product.

I did also use a NVX sound deadening kit in the back of the pod but did not get picks of that.

I am planning to get them installed in the Bronco either tomorrow or Monday. I will post my thoughts after they are installed. And yes, I plan to do the Forscan changes for the rear speakers.

The speaker pods are installed. My first impression is that these pods look pretty good. I have not made the Forscan changes yet as I am still researching if the setting is the same for 2025 since they made so many changes to the audio in 2025.

Lessons learnd:
1. You will not get these installed without removing the top. I tried hard, but in the end had to take the top off. In hindsight this would have saved me 2 hours of time if I had just started with this.
2. The tool kit from Ford is ok, but I recommend you buy some better tools.
3. Take your time. The clips involved are very easy to break.

One last thing, these new speakers from NVX are really nice. Even without the Forscan changes, they sound night and day better. It may just be placebo, but I could swear my factory sub got better with this upgrade as well. I did not touch the sub or EQ in the car so it makes no sense, but my 2 buddies and I all agree it is louder than it was before.

I will get pictures as soon as I can.

I made the Forscan changes and it definitely increases the sound out of these speakers.

@Warsteiner @RagnarKon

Any idea what these two adhesive rubber pads (3” x 2”) are for? There is no mention of them in the instructions. To be honest they may have come with my kicker speakers, i just had them in the box and assumed they were from the pods.

Do you think unbolting the top and lifting it with some blocks would suffice? I don't have an extra set of hands to help me remove the top entirely.

Thanks!

That looks like sound deadening to me. I did not get that with my pods. And yes, if you take all of the bolts out and just prop the top up a bit, you can get the bolts for the pods. That is exactly what I did. I did not pull the top all the way off. Just tilted it up enough to get to the bolts.

What forscan changes did you make? I’m planning to swap to 6.5’s in the back so will likely need to make some adjustments as well

I set both rear speakers to Speaker + Tweater and Speaker + Tweater + Subwoofer. I am also debating on changing the setting to turn off the factory DSP settings.

So you changed to 2 on the passenger rear pod and A on the driver rear pod and sub?
