Manual trans - repair per tech bulletin or replace?

Hi guys, my bronco has an open repair ticket for just over a month now and the dealer still hasn't been able to locate one of the tools needed to repair the transmission.

Have any of you with the affected manual transmissions had it replaced with a new on or repaired per the tech bulletin?

Kind of relevant - My 21 Big Bend has been at the dealership getting the clutch pedal assembly and clutch master cylinder replaced. Dropped it off two week ago and the part finally came in early yesterday. The pedal assembly "creaked/squeaked" since about 6k miles, so I finally decided to take it in before the warranty expired at 36k, so I should be "noise free" when I get it back this afternoon.
