I’ve only had this Bronco for 2 weeks. Last week, I was driving on the highway and heard a loud pop driving about 75 on the highway. Never figured it out until today. Noticed a strange imperfection behind the driver side, passenger door. Has always been in my garage except for a few quick parking lot trips. Was wondering if someone was trying to break in but don’t think there would have been an opportunity… could the highway speed have caused this?

Not speed alone but something could have gotten flung into you. That’s some strange damage. Bummer.

Thanks, It was really strange when the pop happened. There were no cars around and nothing was on the road that I would have hit.

If you’re in an area like me, we’ve had winds up to 50mph lately. If so, something random could have been blown into your side.

Thanks! We had the wind the last few days but the weather was actually decent when I heard that happen. I had finally let it go until I saw that today. What I was wondering is if there was too much pressure on the top or something? It was daylight and made sure I checked the rear view mirrors as soon as I heard it happen and never saw anything.

If pried open you would think damage on opposing panel or behind the dent. Extreme cold? Some weird tension on body panel let go.

It was probably around 35 degrees at the time I heard the noise. I originally thought it came from the passenger side. That’s where I originally inspected after I got off the highway.

Just checked and nothing out of the ordinary. I did notice it is directly below the bolt that secures the top.

I had a Tacoma that did something much like that driving sand dunes on a beautiful day. Body shop called it a “stress dent.”

Hi there! If you can send over a private message with your VIN and dealership info, I'd be happy to look into this for you.
