if you are going to flat tow buy something else. Read the many flat tow failures on this website about fords non warranty on the issue. you have been put on notice.

Hello everyone! i am looking into placing an order for my first bronco. I am reaching out to see what the community has learned over the last few years when ordering and taking delivery. I am admittedly going to only be daily driving this and really only going to be surfing and snowboarding with her, maybe some light off-roading if my life allows me to get out there (it is what it is). So i am looking for some advice from you all on what order timing is these days as well as what factory add-ons may or may not be worth it. I am interested in an Eruption Green Outer Banks 4dr with the soft top. I was thinking of adding the raised lid cargo area storage to protect against theft as theft is unfortunately very rampant in Cali. Are there aftermarket options that are better? Any thoughts, feedback and ideas from you all would be great!

Surfing and snowboarding...
Are you sure you want a soft top?
I'd think you'd be better off with a hard top and rack?

Supposedly those are related to the Advantek axles (4A). If you don't get one with that, it's supposed to be fine.

If you are just getting the mid package, I would price a Big Bend w mid package/sig lights added vs OBX now that BIg Bend has the 12inch screen and the MGV seats.

Not saying that will change your mind, but it will give you a idea of what the different wheels, leather upgrade , grill and painted handle, fender, etc are costing you.

If you are going for a higher package, this a moot point as you can not get them in the Big Bend.

Edit: I just ran BB w the basics of OBX and it's gets to 47.5k and the OBX was 50k flat.

Pretty close, just a taste thing on appearance at that point.

I have an EG OBX w/ soft top, so obviously I recommend. I did order mine with the mod bumper and SAS. My favorite factory mod (outside of the bumper and SAS) is the rubber floor liners. I also got the upgraded carpet floor mats, which can't be used with the rubber floor liners, but I never used them again. The green with the roast interior is great. Also, I was very supervised at how much I love the bronze dash!
Would you say that SAS is a ā€œneededā€ option? I’m thinking more on resale rather than the regular street tires. Not sure I’ll ever need it but feel like the look, capability, and resale value may be worth it. I’m going back and forth on if I need it

Nothing is ' needed' for sure.
And people are going to give you all sorts of personal opinions, that may not be based in fact or data.

So here's what may help.

I've found, from being on different forums over the years, that location matters when it comes to certain options.

For example, when it come to SUVs & trucks with 2WD vs AWD or 4WD , here in NJ it absolutely matters. People want AWD/4WD not even debatable, it’s a bad move to by 2WD here in NJ if there is an alternative (if the car only comes in 2wd , than this doesn't apply) , unless your finances won't allow for it. But I've seen people in Florida who prefer the 2 wheel drive versions of vehicles, which at first surprised me, but makes sense, if you will never use it.

Obviously that specific example doesn't apply to a Bronco, they’re all 4x4s, but where you live changes the market place, and that's my point.

It's hard to predict what the market place is going to look like in 2 to 4 years with Broncos because they're so new and the crazy roll out issues. Also hard because Ford is just now themselves starting to zero in on consumer buying trends with the Bronco.

But you can get an idea of the average resale on non sasquatch Broncos vs sasquatch Broncos and seeing the percentage of loss in your area. But I'd argue for the reasons above, there's not enough data.

Which brings us back to, get what you want and you like.

@CoastalCruiser The SAS is not needed, I have used my front locker only once. However, I went into buying the bronco with the idea it could do everything. I was pretty confident I may one day get into adventure trailing, so I would rather pay a little now I have what I want than save now and pay later. As for why I choose the OBX, that was all about the roast interior...I love it!
