LOD Front Frame Tie In + Ford Performance Winch?

Are these two even compatible? I seem to find a lot of aftermarket winch setups using the LOD frame tie-in, but none for the FPP Warn winch kit.

From my understanding, the FPP Winch Kit includes parts that beef up the frame horns, similar to what would be accomplished by the aftermarket reinforcements. One thing that I wonder, is whether aftermarket plates can be used with the FPP reinforcements, should you have them but want to use a different plate… couldn’t say without setting them right next to each other. I may try and do a comparison… as I have the FPP Kit, but would prefer the RC High Mount. I may buy all + the Metal Tech Frame Reinforcements and see whats what.

I installed the LOD brackets when I added a JCR winch plate and winch.

Just now seeing all the extra brackets that come with the FRPP winch kit thanks to this video. I almost wish I had gone with the FRPP winch kit.


Based on the video and other photos of the FRPP kit, it comes with essentially the exact same brackets you would get from LOD plus a few others like the ones that brace the bumper to under the CAC brackets.

Yup. I bought the FP winch plate second hand and seller failed to give me the reinforcement brackets. I used the LOD brackets in place. I believe everything is same steel thickness. LOD has extra bolt hole.

The nut plates are also thicker along with additional brackets in the FP winch kit. I made the other brackets by hand with 3/16 steel and flair nuts.

Did you end up going with the FPP reinforcements with the RC high mount? How did it work out?

I ended up selling the FPP kit (minus winch), was able to find some of the TD frame horn reinforcements, and installed with the RC High Winch Mount. Haven’t punished it too much but not worried too much either.

Thanks. Do you think the FPP reinforcements would have worked with the RC mount? Do you have the front sensors? How did they work with the Warn winch and that mount?
