I snagged one for $40 two weeks before it was released. Had a thread here but Im too lazy to go find it.

And the Defender is $240 but can be found on ebay for less. It’s the next Lego kit on my build list.

Remember, this is technic Lego, the defender was regular Lego. Although I did buy this new technic bronco, I do prefer the plain Lego myself.

For $50-60 it's a damn fine lego set. I just wish they or someone would issue a color change quick so I could get one in eruption green!!!

I’ll buy one if they ever make a high end, more realistic kit like they did for the Defender and other vehicles, which range from $350 and up.

I agree - though the "real" funcions of the technic sets (such as working engine cylinders, etc) are cool, I prefer the more realistic look of the regular sets.

For example, before I got my Bronco, I was able to make this picture with my Mustang and the Mustang lego kit:

I'd do a new picture withe Bronco if they had a realistic enough looking kit

Well the defender certainly got more overlanding goodies to go along with it. I mean the traction boards are cool and all. In all seriousness, I enjoyed putting mine together. It did take longer than I expected, but the offspring bought me mine as a retirement gift, and we had some fun putting it together, together.

I ordered the LEGO Ford Bronco a few weeks ago and just finished putting it together over the weekend. The detail on it is better than I expected, especially the removable roof and doors. The build was straightforward and fun without being too complex. It actually looks great sitting on my shelf next to my diecast models. Definitely a fun project if you're into both Broncos and LEGO.

I built something similar using mostly existing pieces I had lying around, then ordered a few specific ones online to match the look better. It was a fun weekend project.
