Leaving back window open

They must only have speed bumps around where I live. If you hit a speed bump doing anything greater than 5 mph, that back window is coming down hard on top of the rear tire. Then you don’t have to worry about opening the back window anymore, I guess.

I drive with my back window open all the time with the front windows at least partly down- but with a Bungee cord securing it against the spare. I saw a post from someone else on this forum for the idea and it works perfectly. I drive like this around town and up to 58 MPH on the back roads. Very nice flow through breeze in my 2 door with the front panels on or off. The wind buffeting is pretty bad with the back window closed. The bungee works great, keeps the back window semi- open and you don't have to worry about it bouncing closed or if you forget it's open when you pull in your garage and risk catastrophic damage. No exhaust smell- just keep the front windows both down at least part way or even better all the way down. I drove this way with the plastic back window off for years in the many Jeep TJ's I owned.

Wanted to clarify: the clamshell acts like active aero with how the center of it "flaps" up and down at freeway speeds. Can't imagine that's good for the longevity of the top. Not sure it'll be different with the painted top.
