Pretty good design. Fords own design can be too open for certain scenarios, so this is a great alternative while still having beefy tubing for extra protection and durability.
Wanted to clarify: the clamshell acts like active aero with how the center of it "flaps" up and down at freeway speeds. Can't imagine that's good for the longevity of the top. Not sure it'll be different with the painted top.
Just because the pins are aligned, doesn't necessarily mean the top is aligned. You still have to wiggle it around, back and forth. Double check that the top is not biting into the rubber seals improperly, and that all the seals are flush.

Got insane wind buffeting with just the rear on 65+ on the freeway and front 3 panels off. Did it twice, and that was enough annoyance for me. So much so that I bought a top lift so I can have the proper top off experience this summer with everything off.
