Has anyone given any thought to leasing a bronco instead of financing? Do a 4 year lease as an example with 12k a year in miles, also means dealer is covering any repairs, oil changes etc. Then after the lease just doing a buy out? Just out of curiosity if anyone has run the numbers and looking for pros/cons. Honestly I have never leased a vehicle before. My build is in my sig.

As stated, yes it's been talked about before.

The short answer from my take:

If you lease and then buy out, yes, costs more than straight up buying. For some people that's ok. It's a question of what works for your wallet.

Good thing though, if it ends up being a lemon, or you don't like it, you can return it at end of lease.

I put about 25k+ miles per year, so a lease is not an option for me, I'd be smart to just buy it.

You better not put a scratch on that leased Bronco!

Just to clarify on this a bit. Normal wear and tear is acceptable when returning a leased vehicle. I have leased several vehicles, including through Ford, and have never been "punished" for normal door dings, small window chips, and even scratches. I have even changed wheels, tires, and added lights and a lift on vehicles and never received anything negative from it.

That being said, if you scratch the crap out of it doing trails, your going to have to pay for that.

If you plan on doing anything more than mild off-roading or overlanding, you may need to be extra careful with some things (like paint) if you are going to lease.

Exactly what I'm thinking. Never leased either. 1st model year jitters adding to the equation...

The open secret in the industry is that lease loyalty is high, the OEMs and dealers don't want to jeopardize that via nickle and diming you on a lease turn-in. The delta in vehicle sale price is nothing compared to the cost of conquering a customer.

Asked. Answered. Half dozen anyway. Search. Go ahead, give it a try.
Have you done the math on how many of your 1934 posts have been telling relative noobs to search instead of asking? Go ahead, give it a try. Our host up in here makes the money by hits on the site, thus attracting advertising. Shutting down new posters is not productive to the bottom line. We were all noobs at some point, cut them some slack...

Those lease numbers (and the default financing ones) in the build in price are atrocious. If they are much improved when it comes time to sign, I'd consider it. Otherwise, no chance.

So, when one goes to turn in their lease, will wear/damage be looked at differently depending on whether they’re staying with the brand or not?
