On July 6 2024 my wife and I took possession of a 1 year old 2023 Badlands 4 door hard top with a 2.3 A10 power plant. Since my wife was a little girl, she had always wanted a bronco. When ford announced the return of the Bronco back in 2020, we made it a point to get one. After paying off extraneous debts, buying a house, and other things we as adults get to enjoy, we finally got what we were working towards!
Immediately we knew some changes were going to need to be made, as we live on gravel, and live a fairly rural life we wanted to extend the life of the vehicle as long as we can. A quick hop, skip, and a jump were made to Ebay to purchase a set of take off 4 door running boards, and a reasonably priced set of mud flaps.
After some time enjoying this fine Ford, a nice take out set of OE floor mats was procured to make cleaning a breeze.
Future mods? Puddle lamps. Being a mid pack, they were never offered with puddle lamps, alley lights, or 360° cam. I will continue to hunt salvage yards, Ebay, and other 2nd hand avenues to pick up a set of mirrors to integrate the alley lights and puddle lamps at a minimum.
24+ Badlands stitched dash. It may or may not already be on order to be installed. I will have to find a way to dye the interior grab handles to match the leather. I've got ideas, but nothing concrete yet.
Trailer hitch. Not that we intend to tow with this rig, but it would be a nice addition to have for a kayak rack, hitch rack, or if needed, towing. I don't like the roof racks and how they look, so this is something I'm going to do sooner than later.
Id like to get my hands on a set of painted flares and mirror caps as well.
No real intentions to go ripping up the trails. My wife and I will be daily driving this thing for years to come!
