Not a huge fan of simulated bead locks (SBL), fake locks, beauty rings or whatever you want to call them.
However, I do like the wheel designs of the GRS and Riot and not sure I want to go true bead locks due to weight & maintenance. I’m leaning more towards Method bead grips or Icon innerlocks but also trying to hit that sweet spot on offset. IMO 0 is a little too much and +35 isn’t enough which knocks out Method. I’m still debating the Icons as I do like them but trying to keep an open mind.
Anyhow, both the KMC GRS and Riot hits the offset desirability and looks good. If I went this route I am curious if the rings are more like the beauty rings on the SAS wheels and if they are removable? They look like they may be. Also if the bolts are replaceable? I would prefer black bolts to detract from them trying to imitate a real bead lock. If the rings are entirely removable that would be bonus points as they would at least have some function besides imitation.
Anyone running either and can you confirm for me? I’ve looked and it’s not easy to find on KMC website or Google in general.
