Key Fob Programming

I went to my dealer today to get an extra key made and programmed (mine only came with one.) After an hour they were unable to communicate with my car and told me they would need it for a day or two in order to get the new fob synched.

Has anyone else run into this? If so, any suggestions on how to solve this issue? I don’t want to lose my ride for two days - plus I think that is ridiculous.

They probably need an update to their IDS tool to do a PATS reprogramming.
