Am I the only one here that had to look up what a "GX" even was?
Did I miss something....what is the appeal in those ugly looking things?

You're apparently blind if you think it's ugly. The appeal is a luxury SUV with some decent offroad capability. Sure it doesnt have front and rear lockers and crawl over rocks but thats not what it is designed for at all.

It really shouldn't be compared to a Bronco the GX is in a different (higher) class of vehicle.

Just gave up my reservation on a 23' OBX SAS 2.7l.

Just couldn't justify the price of it, in Canada it's about $80K, and I just can't get there to understand the value from it. Maybe I'll get one in a year or two with some miles on one. I could justify the base version if it was in the $50K-ish, but 30K more for a 5-7K in parts just seems a bridge too far.

I've had my name down on a Rivian for over 2+ years and should get $15K+ of value with the grandfathered pricing and the new 2024 GX would work for me plus it's being made in Japan and build quality should be on par with other Lexii.

Hope everyone enjoys there's and gets the 100% use out of them.

I fully understand where you’re coming from. I’m in Newfoundland and my ‘22 OBX 4 door, Lux,Sasquatch,hardtop,2.7 cost me $74 grand CDN plus tax. I had price protection and 8 months after I ordered it the thing was gone up to $76. Grand but I got it for $74. It is more of a want than a need and I told the wife that was my cealing and I wouldn’t pay anything more.
That said I have really enjoyed the truck and have no regrets. The other day I stopped by the ford lot and there was a new Bronco Raptor there and the sticker price was $126.460 grand plus tax which will get you up to $150 grand CDN for that Fugly thing.
They are a fun machine but certainly not worth the money.

I have to pay 7% up front that I never see again down here in the states. Also an $899 "doc fee". So my $61,800 Bronco will be ~$68k OTD.

$899 doc fee is extortion. It shouldn't be any more than about $400.

I'm not blind, but I agree the Lexus GX is in fact ugly. I have never, ever seen a more fugly front end (grille) on a vehicle:

And by "decent off-road capability", I'm assuming you are referring to the soccer mom who may have to drive up on a curb to park it to set up her cookie stand?

My 2 door base SAS with aux switches 2.7 and 10 speed auto was about $36,500 with the October Granger special....I think I got a deal. Just took delivery. Agreed though, these things have gotten up there in price.

Most would agree that the 2023 Lexus GX grille is not pleasant to look at but I'm sure proponents of the GX on this thread are referring to the redesigned 2024 model.
The GX is also built on the same platform as the Toyota 4runner which is a very capable off road vehicle. I prefer the Bronco but I also think the 2024 Lexus GX is a much improved design with the bonus of reliability since it will still be built out of the factory in Japan.

hmm, not sure how that adds up, is it also including destination charge? Sas on 2-door base was nearly 6k+, and 1K+ on V6 and 1k+ on automatic. (Don't have exact figures in front of me.) Anyway if $36,500 you got a nice deal.

It was ordered Oct of 2020 through Granger's 2k under invoice deal. I finally got it 2 days ago. I had all the price protections.

I cancelled my reservation over 2 years ago and drove a Bronco Sport during that period. Loved that vehicle but after driving this beast for the past 10 days, it's pure joy every time I head out for a drive or even look at it. Coming from the Raptor world for 7 years, the feeling is similar but different driving this amazing vehicle. I have a feeling you'll be driving one down the road!

Most places here charge $499. My dealership beats everyone else by a dollar at $498.

It's BS. It's all of 5 minutes work, and pure profit for the dealership. The local "quickie title" place only charges 17 bucks.

X-plan (not available on anything you want to buy) limits dealerships to $100, which means they still make plenty of money even at a c-note. Some states limit DOC fees by statute.
