Is this normal? Hitch sticks out

Still undecided about the Curt v. the Draw-Tite.

I am not pulling a trailer (just bikes and and maybe a cargo bin), but I am not a big fan of damage to my shin during a CostCo run.

I did think about a Draw-Tite plus Weather Tech combo that may help saving me from getting injured an also help if someone tries to parallel park too close to me. Also it would be great as a step to reach the roof rails.

I purchased and mounted the curt but just ordered the draw-tite. I am not a fan of it sticking out further but I needed a little extra length for the pakmule and using an extension looses half of the capacity. Swapping will not take that long so I plan to keep both and mount the curt if I plan on any offroad activity.

Here's an alternative to Curt or DrawTite, It's made by Bay Area Metal Fab Company located in San Francisco, CA. I went with them, since it really tucks up close and you don't see. Here's the link if anyone interested.

It is so easy to install that you are gonna swap them out? Can I borrow your torque wrench?

The factory hitches require removing the rear bumper because the bolts go in from the rear and I think that the nuts are welded on. The aftermarket hitches are much easier to deal with. I purchased a olsa split beam torque wrench while I was waiting on my bronco. I like that it does not need to be set back to zero after use.
