Is Model e Ford's way of bypassing the dealers?

After reading the press release about Ford Blue and Model e, I believe Ford sees an opportunity to cash in on the EV market by cutting out the middle man and selling direct. I think that by separating the ICE and EV businesses they are beginning the process of direct sales of EVs. Read thislittle snippet from the press release and let me know if you agree.

Ford Model e also will lead on creating an exciting new buying and ownership experience for it's future electrical vehicle customers that includes simple, intutive e commerce platforms, transparent pricing and personalized customer support from Ford ambassadors
