Ford Bronco Is it a "Truck"?? Screen Shot 2021-09-30 at 3.35.38 PM

I'm pretty sure that the place that makes the thing gets to call it what it is.

But I'm gonna call it a Bronco. If pressed further, I'd call it an SUV, since that's what Ford calls it.

Call it a Bronco. Already have a Yukon XLT 4x4 that is called the 'truck' to distinguish it from the Jeep Liberty that is 'Daddy's Car'

For the record, people self-identify as non-binary, dogs, sheep, whatever.

So if you wanna self-identify as a truck-owner when you own a Bronco, you do you. But in doing so, you've gotta respect all of the aforementioned's right to do the same. :)

My 70, 77 and 84 were all registered as wagons.
Here in Florida all my broncos have been classified by the state as station wagons. This actually helps on the insurance rates!

I’ll call it the same way I call my Jeep…. It’ll be called a bronco. I don’t call my Jeep a car or a truck… cause it’s neither.

As a current Jeep owner........... Jeeps are "Jeeps", SO Broncos are "Broncos"

I'll always refer to it as the Bronco. What confuses me is how Ford can consider the Ecosport, Expedition, and Bronco to all be in the same category.

I guess you would have to ask it....... what its preferred pronoun is too.. if it "feels" like a car then you must refer to it as a car (even though in its DNA, its a TRUCK! you wouldn't want to hurt its feelings. haha.

Truck definition: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/truck

Car definition: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/car

Doesn’t help at all! Any vehicle could technically be called a car or a truck, depending on what constitutes a “heavy load”.

The wheel assembly on a skateboard or a train is known as a truck. Pickup type trucks in some parts of world are lorries. Watch Top Gear and most vehicles including SUVs, sedans, saloons and pickups are all called cars.

Call it what you want and be confident you’re right!

I’ll call it the Bronco because I call my F150 “the truck”.

Ford considers the MachE a Station Wagon (check window sticker), so don't go by what the mnfr website says, that's marketing material.

Personally I think the Bronco is too high to be a wagon. Body on frame 4x4s are trucks to me. This includes the 4runner and expedition. Truck with a bed is a pickup truck. Truck with a unibody isn't a truck, it's a ute. Ridgeline and Santa Cruz are tall utes. It's a lifted Subaru Baha for all intents and purposes.

Ford also considers the MachE a Mustang, so that shows what they know about classifying things.

My 70, 77 and 84 were all registered as wagons.
It used to be like that for the Delaware DMV on my 74.
Now it says "2W" on the registration. Maybe means 2-door wagon?
