I've been debating whether or not to put the front plate on my Bronco. I think I can justify no plate in Idaho by claiming that the factory did not put on a place to install the license plate, and there seems to be a law for that. But I have a personalized plate that I think adds to the Bronco, so I gave in this morning and installed the plate bracket and the front plate. I suppose if I decided to take it back off, the two holes for the bracket are rather hard to see.

What do you think?

Personally, I think where you mounted it looks good. Plus, you won’t run the risk of a meter maid ticket or being stopped (depending on ID laws, I’m in WA and frequently in OR). I’m mounting in the same location when mine shows.

EDIT: Mine is coming with the modular bumper so I am going after market with my mount. The capable bumper stock location appears to be much better than the modular bumper stock location.

I keep mine in my truck in a silicon cover. You'll never be pulled over for not having a front plate in CA. At least it can't be primary. I use it in some places that will ticket you for not having one when you park in metered or monitored spaces. I just place it on my dash when I park there. Maybe four times a year.

The plate mount is the standard Ford product that the dealer gave me when I picked up the Bronco. And that's the only place it could possibly go.

There might be issues on some other models, but it is a good place to put a plate on a Base model.

My dealer slapped it on right over the grill before I could pick it up after asking them not to…. I was so happy to get my Bronco, I didn’t make a scene. At least I won’t get a ticket :cautious:

I modified a holder that's for tube bumpers and mounted it off to the side in my BL for a long road trip to SoCal, as I don't know how money hungry the cops are down there, but I'm thinking of taking it off again and having it in the trunk with the excuse that I have to buy a new screw because it just fell off ;-)
Tons of cars here w/o front plate, don't think anyone cares, maybe if you already got pulled over for some other thing.
Where you mounted it looks pretty good though, if I had that option I'd have just put it there and not think about any more.

I don't like having any more reasons to be hassled than necessary. I'd run the plate, it actually looks good in that location with that bumper.
