My wife and I decided to take some back roads up to Savage Gulf state park. I had planned to go up to the stone door entrance.
After stopping by this roadside waterfall we put the address in the GPS. I should have turned off include 4x4 roads. We tra eled about 20 minutes on good gravel road that is a logging road. I was running about 45 mph only slowing down for splash holes in the road. We came to a turn. The turn was gated so we pushed on and GPS rerouted.
This trail was rather tight and unused. Being adventurous and deciding we should turn back, Hell, I plunged in. We twisted turned and scraped for about a quarter hour. We found where the logging operation was discarding limbs.
This went on for about two football fields. I had my street tires on and we were already pushing it alone.
We backed up a ways. We turned around almost getting stuck in a rutted bog. We headed back getting plenty more trail rash on the way. There had been a deep rut we had skirted then crossed on the way in. Not so easy with the stock GY going out . We winched past this and we were back to high speed gravel.
About 30 minutes later we happened on one of the southern entrances to the park. Since it was getting late to start a hike. We entered here. We geared up for a little walking and headed out
We got out as it started to rain. It turned into a downpour. I got one last shot of the roadside falls as we left. Of course I got soaked for your viewing pleasure.
