Nice!30K plus Tax and License.
There is definitely some truth in there. Some of the creature comforts are so the Mid Package is something I would not like to go without. I have friends and relatives that go out a couple times a month and I have been wanting to join them with my own vehicle. The problem if that you need to move up a trim to get the Mid package and the SAS is nice for future fitting. Ford did a great job with the pricing. Once you get the SAS and a step up in the trim, there are a bunch of mini steps for 1k here and 1k there and knowing when to stop is hard. I do appreciate the straight up talk.My observations
noob-you don't need all of the costly suspension add on's.
bad ass-you're buying to impress the neighbors instead of meeting spending goals.
SAS-driving up the cost on all builds for something you can live without.
Build #4 is probably what you need minus SAS and will check most of the boxes.
I'm in sales and management and the middle kid. So I can take the BS and dish it out too. I'm smiling and enjoy the jabs here and there. Thanks brother.Dude I've only been on this site since January and it doesn't take long to see who the people are that like to bust your b***s. That's pretty much option 3 for meI split it down the middle and did a BD sas. It just looks old school and mean. You will probably never need the dissconnect.
Now that you mentioned you're down payment, buying more may not be such a bad idea. I'm buying much more and putting down far less. I don't off road, so skipped SAS and went with lux, leather, mod top, Sunrider top, sound deadening headliner and pod lights. There is definitely some truth in there. I don't know...even the base with Sasquatch is 98% as capable off road as the top spec Badlands, and for a whole lot less. And if not being a liability on the trails is important, I think the money is probably better spent on proper recovery and safety gear than on upgrading to the Badlands for just the sway bar disconnect.Badlands all the way!
If you have friends going on the 4wd trails and you want to join them, I would not want to have the vehicle that is holding everyone back.
I think you will be fine with the order of #2 that you have now.
#1 because that's what I went with.![]()
Who else is pulling their hair out thinking about changes? I was set up and happy 2 days ago and now...BOOM! it's all up in the air again. I haven't had a car payment for about 6 years and will put a huge down to keep it a very manageable payment. Here's my dilemma. I haven't went off-roading but have a lot of friends that do and I'd like to join them. There are 4 set-ups I'm looking at Highest to lowest Would be the Badland to Base SAS.
Keep in mind, I hate payments, credit cards and you name it. I'm a noob when it comes to off road so the badlands are most likely overkill (but bad ass). At the same time, I don't want buyers remorse. Currently, I have option number 2 ordered.
1. Badlands, SAS, MIC, Mid Package, 2.7 - $369 mo. $54260 Build - puts me over where I want to be payment wise and is most likely over kills for a noob.
2. Badlands, MIC, Mid Package, 2.7 - $331 mo. $51765 build. add 35 or 37 tire and lift after OG tire are done.
3. Black Diamond, SAS, MIC, Mid Package, 2.7 - $320 mo. $51010 build. - maybe upgrade bumpers down the road.
4. Base, SAS, 2.7 - $199 mo. $43075 Build change out bumpers and such in a year or so when the stuff comes out
