Last week a family member called Ford and was told it was built, just waiting for the expected delivery of 2/15 ... could be from 2/9 to 2/15 ...

With everyone getting changed yesterday, called back. Quite candidly told "It's built, it's on Ice Mountain waiting for chips, we had no idea we'd have this big a problem with microchips... you've been rescheduled for 5/16... maybe try calling back in a month or two?" Sucks. Talk about disappointment. And living down South, it's not likely to have seen snow in it's lifetime, let alone much cold - but now it has to sit in all that stuff. Certain things just piss me off and I hate to sound callous - I'm no player hater - but reading the Reddit posts of "I ordered a few weeks ago, I'm scheduled for end of Feb and delivery the first week of March..." === Doesn't Seem Legit to me , I'm a first-day. Forget your constraint excuses and make it freaking happen. So now instead of Daily Ain't Got Shit posts it's more Monthly.
Did the Ford CS Rep really refer to the holding lot as Ice Mountain? That's awesome and sad at the same time.

Please tell me they actually said "Ice Mountain " 🤣🤣🤣. For the life of us we couldn't get anyone from Ford Customer Service ever actually say "Dirt Mountain".

This is great ! Are the metrics on there live? Didn’t see mine on the map made me wonder if it was just a sample so far. But awesome work !
I fixed that issue you noted. The default was to only display 100 rows, but I bumped that up. Thanks.

1/27 blend here, but edd hasn’t been pushed yet. Seems like all recent builds are being held up even if we haven’t seen a May edd change. Should we all join the list or wait until we officially hear we are being held?

Can anyone confirm how this works. Do they keep the line moving and allocate the good chips to the next build dates, and have to wait until a new batch comes in for our already built vehicles? That just be why it’s expected all the way in May. They can’t possibly not plan to ship any Broncos from now until May, so this seems most likely.

It is all speculation, but how Ford handled the Dirt Mtn holds is indicative of how you described. It would be nice that they address the builds in the lot first, but they won't. The line will get the first commodities and additional on hand supplies will go to the backlog.

Makes sense from an efficiency standpoint..but man does that suck for us. Feels like our builds are now in the abyss and we could be lucky if we even see them in May.

The line keeps moving with priority. Those incomplete Broncos on the lot can't become an even bigger problem by impacting even more builds.

Say it takes an hour to go back to each truck on the lot to install a module and test it. Hypothetically say they have 1000 trucks waiting for those parts and that means 1000 hours of extra labor.

If they keep the line going making complete builds, they aren't adding to the problem.

If they prioritize the incomplete builds and, in doing so, create 1000 more incomplete trucks, then they need 2000 hours of labor to clear it out (and they now have 2000 pissed off buyers instead of 1000).

You can debate right & wrong here all you want but it would be insane to take from the line.

I keep coming back to this Braveheart clip thinking maybe mine will improve. I know we are stuck in this same situation: "The Almighty tells me he can get me out of this mess, but he's pretty sure you're f*#$@%."

Bingo. They keep the line moving at all cost. If they have a fresh batch of chips arrive, they go to the line first and any remainder go to Ice Mountian.

Ford will try to do FIFO (First In First Out) according to Build Date of those on Ice Mountain but with Dirt Mountain that approach was hit or miss.

Depending on what Chip is actually the constrant (there are dozens in a Lux model) it may be as simple as popping it in right on Ice Mountain or transportation to the Mod Ship may be required.

Should the Mod shop be required you are also fighting against the new Line builds having to have accessories installed there.

This may take a while.
